Tiffany & Co.: It All Begins With A T…

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

T is tasteful, T is timeless, T is trendy, which, short of sounding like an unofficial ad for Tiffany & Co.’s T collection, is exactly how I feel. If you’ve seen me out and about, you would have noticed the Tiffany T Square Bracelet on my right wrist. And even though mine is the one in sterling silver (because the ones in gold would be so much better, right?), it’s become my everyday armour of sorts (think Wonder Woman and her cuffs and you’ll know what I mean). And if it so happens that I forget to wear it out on any given day (God forbid!), I would feel a little naked and under-dressed.

Created by then design director of Tiffany in 2014, the #TiffanyT is fast becoming one of the American jeweller’s key signature series (and one of my all-time favourites) thanks to its clean lines and sharp good looks that’s punctuated by the same alphabet the brand is named after.

So why the allure, you ask? For starters, it’s a versatile design that makes it perfect for both men and women, though admittedly, the ladies have more choices when it comes to the #TiffanyT collection. Two, the alphabet, in the Sans Serif font, is bold and striking, even from afar. And thirdly, it comes in both sterling silver or precious golds, so there’s definitely something for everyone, from the humblest of T rings in silver to diamond-adorned tennis bracelets that come set in white gold. Finally, and most importantly, you can mix it with other pieces from Tiffany’s repertoire and they will still look perfect together. Promise.

A pretty extensive collection, the #TiffanyT universe extends to a wide range of designs that include the T Square – where the T is seamlessly integrated into the bracelet/ring; the T Wire – where the T is attached to a thin, wire-like band; the T Cutout – where the T is stamped out to form a graphical silhouette; the T Hinged – a wrap around jewellery piece that’s finished with the T on one end; the T Chain – interlocking T’s that come together to form an elongated chain; and the T Smile – a series of pendants shaped to look like two T’s on opposite ends merged together to form a smile. And in these gorgeous silhouettes, the pieces come in sterling silver and different golds, from rose to yellow to white, with some even adorned with diamonds for that extra sparkle.

A well-rounded range that’s tasteful, timeless and forever trendy, the architecturally sublime #TiffanyT will continue to have that special place in my heart. And if you want to check out all pieces T, just head down to Tiffany & Co. for a look yourself and I promise you’ll totally fall for it.

H. Moser & Cie’s new Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton

Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton

The watch market is constantly being flooded with new designs, some of them more interesting than others. That’s why every single watchmaker out there is constantly looking for different ways to attract new customers, coming up with fresh designs that will tease your senses and get you really interested.

And the H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton might just fit the bill. But if money was no object to you, and you’d like to buy one of the most breathtaking timepieces on the market right now, this watch inspired the Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire timepiece before you.

Thanks to a beautifully skeletonized movement and its transparent sapphire case, that watch was a sight to behold, but this new version is even more drool inducing.

Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton

The H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton watch features a 41.5 mm sapphire case, with a bezel, case middle, case back, and even the crown, made out of sapphire glass. On the inside, things remain impressive thanks to the in-house skeletonized automatic caliber HMC 803, featuring a tourbillon with an original Straumann double hairspring and a power reserve which lasts at least 3 days.

The nickel silver bridges of the movement show off a blue hue thanks to a special chemical process, which makes them resemble blue steel a little, and also worth mentioning are the rose gold main hour and minute hands, which will get you to stare at this watch for minutes.

You will do that pretty soon, when you’ll realize that the H. Moser & Cie. Venturer Tourbillon Dual Time Sapphire Blue Skeleton watch is a one-off piece, that’s set to sell for 1,000,000 CHF. Too much?

Chanel Peace & Joy Brooches Collection

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

I’ll admit it. It’s a slow news day, since most of what I’ll be sharing will only happen from 1 September 2016 when the new season officially kicks in. Still, there’s no harm showing you all a little of what will be available from Chanel in the coming weeks, this assortment of quirky brooches that I’m calling the Peace & Joy (cue peace sign brooches and a pin with the happiest of faces).

Made up of resin, gold metals and metal paved with strass, it’s just what we all need now, especially with what’s going on in the world at the moment. Just more peace, and joy.

Casio Master of G receives a Vintage Gold touch

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

The Casio G-Shock Master of G series just received two new gold variants that are as retro as they are gold. Called the Gulfmaster model (GN1000GB-1A) and Mudmaster model (GG1000GB-1A), both variants offer the same rugged and stylish look without weighing down your pockets. The Mudmaster is specially made to survive extremities in the elements, especially land, sea and air. This makes it a fantastic companion to those who tread through extreme weather conditions. They both offer a Twin Sensor technology that control compass bearing and measure temperature, shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, world time across 31 time zones, a 1/100th stopwatch, 5 daily alarms, auto calendar, and auto LED. The works!

Unlike many gilded watches, both models have gold layers that are specially treated to appear as if they have been weathered through the ages. This aspect enhances the ‘classic’ and vintage appearance on them and makes them appear as if they have been used for a while.

The two models can be told apart by the bezel on the Gulfmaster that resembles a weather-bitten porthole of a ship and the Mudmaster’s resemblance to tools that have been used to mine through the earth.

Frugal Snob Jewels: Make a Statement

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

Frugal Snob Jewels

Ease into the sweet hues of spring with a jewel or two…or three! At these Frugal Snob prices, you can layer on stacks for maximum impact without an ounce of guilt or buyer’s remorse. I’ve always loved J.Crew‘s whimsical pieces, especially their famous bubble bauble. They brought back the statement-making necklace due to popular demand, and you can snap it up now in turquoise, neutral gray, or summery citron! For something a little quirkier, there’s a frog-kissing cuff  fit for a princess. And Topshop got in on the action, too, with a neon flower collarthat weaves yellow fabric into the chain. Another Freedom of Topshop fabric fave? Their adjustable orange bracelet  that juxtaposes floral-shaped gems with a thin climbing-style absail rope. Wear any of these pieces over a white tee or a cute printed dress for a flower power look that’s fresh and modern.

Aminimal Studio Map Necklaces: All Roads Lead to…

Aminimal Studio Map Necklaces

…well, it depends on where you are, I guess! Aminimal Studio founders John and Svetlana Blum Briscella cite urban chaos as one of their inspirations – maybe designing these gorgeous gold-plated necklaces is their way of controlling it. With all of the traveling I do, the little slices of heaven evoke a lot of memories. I love the idea of carrying around a piece of your hometown (Dallas!) or favorite destination. The grids are so detailed you could almost even use them as real maps – don’t quote me when you’re wandering around lost, though! The design duo show love to their area with Williamsburg and Brooklyn necklaces (for really large places like NYC and LA, they’ve made not just city, but also neighborhood designs). Which map holds the most memories for you? Shop the cities on Fab!
